THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

WHO NEEDS A CRYSTAL BALL

I guess it is just human nature to want to know what will happen in the future. There are people that spend good money on fortune tellers who look into crystal balls to see the future, or some will use a deck of tarot cards in a feeble attempt to know what will happen in the days ahead. While some people put their faith into the occult, I have found that a better solution is to use common sense and sound business principles to predict what the future will hold. Just a couple of days ago we were told of insurance premium hikes for the so-called Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

While I don’t claim to be a soothsayer or some kind of psychic, I and a host of other conservative writers predicted that the Obamacare law would fall upon itself; we are now being proven correct in our prediction. I hate to tell you so but we did tell you so. Even the Obama administration acknowledged that health insurance premiums under the ACA will increase an average of 22% in 39 states next year. Also the number of insurance companies involved in the ACA will decline next year from the current 232 to just 167. (Or, 28% fewer health insurance providers.) What this information points to is very simple, we Americans will have less choice and will be forced to pay more for those limited choices.

We Americans were fed a load of bull manure. How many of you can remember when our president promised us that we could keep our same doctor, keep our same insurance and families would enjoy a $2,500 dollar reduction in their insurance costs per year? I think it is about time that we Americans get our heads out of the sand and stop believing all of these lies. Instead of getting people who had business experience to come up with logical solutions to the health care problems in this country, the whole scheme of Obamacare was written by a bunch of political hacks that never ran a business of their own or had to make a payroll. These individuals wouldn’t be able to operate a five and dime store but they were given free rein to screw up a multi-billion dollar segment of our economy.

We warned about the negative effects of Obamacare on the GDP and healthcare spending, the increased costs we were likely to experience, and the insurance companies that would pull out of the system because of a bad bottom line. We understood what was coming, even Congress essentially exempted itself from Obamacare; that action reminded me of a bunch of rats jumping off of a sinking ship.

In less than two weeks we will be electing a new president; Donald Trump has publicly stated that he will repeal Obamacare because it is an absolute failure, whereas Hillary Clinton will refuse to remove this bad law from around the necks of all Americans. I have a prediction and I don’t need a deck of cards or a crystal ball. If Hillary is elected, the end result will be a single payer system with poor care and more expense. If Trump is elected, Obamacare will be repealed before it totally destroys our economy and a free market system will be implemented. I just gave you a prediction and it will be more accurate than any crystal ball. As for me I predict that I will vote for Trump on election day.
