SEEING RED
The presidential election happened just a little over a week ago and it seems like it happened ages ago. Donald Trump came under constant attack from day one of his candidacy, now after his victory the liberal press and their minions are showing no let up in their attempt to discredit him. The main stream media evidentially didn’t learn anything from the results of the election. The American people are starting to see the biased liberal agenda of the so-called news media of this nation. The media first wants to criticize Trump for not being open with the media. Every time any position in his cabinet is leaked to the public, the first thing that seems to come out of their mouths is the nominee is a racist or some other equally deplorable quality. Another thing is the constant reporting of the rioters and protestors in various cities across our country. Instead of doing their job as unbiased reporters they portray the protestors as little angels instead of being the instigators of mayhem and violence that many of them are paid to promote. After the election of Barrack Obama we conservatives didn’t go on a rampage burning and destroying property. One of the biggest complaints that many of them have is the Electoral College system that elects or presidents.
The Electoral College is one of the most brilliant systems that our founders came up with. Our system of government is not a democracy, it is a republic. In a republic the rights of the individual is paramount. In a democracy it is nothing but mob rule; if the majority wants something, the individual has no rights. Our founders took pains to make sure that the people in the less populated areas would not be dominated by the more densely populated areas. Every state has a certain number of Representatives in Congress based upon their population, but in the Senate each state has only two. Fortunately the lesser populated states have a degree of protection from being totally outnumbered and forced to live under the decree of states that have huge populations and many Representatives. The Electoral College is another instrument that accomplishes much the same thing as the Senate.
To prove my point all you have to do is look at the map of the United States and see all of the states in red where Donald Trump won. The map is almost totally red; the only places that were in blue where Clinton won the most of her votes, were in small areas on the west and east coasts. While early reports came out that Clinton won the popular vote it was later confirmed that Trump did also win the popular vote. Every so often there is some group wanting to do away with the Electoral College. I totally support the Electoral College, without it the vast majority of area of this nation would be ruled by those small areas of blue on the electoral map. Anytime you hear someone wanting to do away with the Electoral College, take a look at the recent map and I feel if you see as much red as I do the decision will be simple.
