THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

A MOST GULLIBLE RACE

I have come to the conclusion that we Americans are the most gullible race of people on the planet. The terrorist attack in New York City and the way the media reported on it can make a person scratch his head. We have gotten into a system were our people live in completely different realities. When the mass shooting happened in Las Vegas there were immediate calls for more gun laws, with more strenuous background checks on anyone wanting to purchase a firearm; at the same time the liberals of this nation were opposing president Trump’s temporary ban on immigration from certain Muslim countries.

I often wonder how long it will take for the liberals in this country to wake up and take seriously the threats facing our nation. When you look across the world the vast majority of terrorist attacks are being perpetrated by people being devoted to a particular sect of Islam. The Boston Marathon bombers, just like this guy running over innocent people in New York, were immigrants to this nation who, through their actions, proved that they have no respect for our nation and form of government. I applaud the efforts of our president to slow down the process of immigration; hopefully more of these maniacs can be stopped before they are allowed into our country. Sadly we have too many liberal leaning federal judges who are holdovers from the Obama administration issuing restraining orders against Trump’s proposals. I do not claim to be a constitutional scholar, but from what I have read the president is well within his legal authority to protect the American people by issuing his temporary travel ban.

I wish the liberals would direct half as much anger at the people who preach their poison of hate in the name of their sick religion as they do against an inanimate object such as a firearm. It is a sad fact that our nation is more divided than it has been since the Civil War. It has gotten to the point where conservatives have canceled speaking engagements on some of our most prestigious universities because of threats of violence from the left. We have become paralyzed with the concept of political correctness, and the word racist has become a catchall for anyone who has an opposing view of the left. Our nation is not absolutely perfect, but it is the closest that man has ever come to perfection. I was taught as a child to respect our flag and the Constitution of the United States. Whenever the National Anthem was played I stood, removed my hat, placed my hand over my heart, and showed the respect it deserved; now we have a bunch of overpaid football players who refuse to do so.

Like a child growing up at some time he or she will see the light and start acting like an adult; it is time we Americans grow out of this gullible stage we are currently in and grow up.
