Be a Lion not a Coward
Time and time again I hear the utterance of "just let him be" or don't confront them and walk on or perhaps "scroll on", in today's lingo. But I wonder why we do that. Is it out of fear that we might get into a confrontation. I have even heard those who claim to be an evangelical state we are to be gentile to people and not agitate them.
People must consider the problems within this world, after all we see them all the time, day in and day out. Most of us wishes we could make this place better that others wouldn't have to put up with the vial and unrighteous stuff out there. But it is up to us to some degree to do our part. What I mean is we can't continually allow the sinning factions to consume our lives. Sometimes we must confront it head on and square it away, regardless of what the "so called evangelical sector or liberal bleeding hearts might thing or say.
While often time they like to point out that some literature says we should be gentle and not offend those who are in sin, that it might discourage them from being saved. But no where in scripture is that found. Even when they point out read this scripture or that, and often they point to the scripture that states we should be patient when teaching people the things of God. That is true, but confronting evil and sin when they are doing it or in it isn't part of that scripture. Other people suggest half witted like, "the bible says not to judge people". Again NO, half truths and falsehoods do not lead people to the Lord. Every-man makes judgements each day, they Lord also tells us how we should judge people; if only people read the bible.
God created man and woman in His own image, in His image did He create them male and female. God is no weak, never was weak and never shall be weak. God chose of the strong to represent him and to become prophets to carry out a message for Him or in His name. He did so because He knew the courage these leaders had. He didn't choose amongst the weak to deliver powerful messages into His people. However, being strong didn't always come in the since of a bold man or a man who was mighty in all his ways. Sometimes those strong men were full of courage but peaceful, sometimes the courage they had tested all boundaries and they broke those boundaries with their faith, yet delivered the message God chose for them to deliver, such was in the case with Daniel who was placed in a pit with lions, then the pit was sat on fire when the lions didn't eat him. Yet, still he was not burn because of his faith.
Jesus Christ was sent of His Father (God of all Creation), as a lamb, to teach and bring His people back to Him, and to provide a path in order that they may be saved. Christ knew and understood his mission, he also knew it meant sacrifice. No stronger a person was there than He that lay down his life to pay for the sins of all, washing their sins away. Their was of course conditions, because nobody just gets a free ride. You must with impunity confess the Lord Jesus Christ
that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. -Romans 9:9-10.
Christ came as a Lamb but comes again as a lion. Jesus came to light a fire underneath this world, the fire will keep burning and when that fire is about to go out then shall we see Him again. Only there will be no mister nice guy, and asking for forgiveness is out of the question at that time.
So the bible says the meek shall inherit the earth. Yes, indeed they will. But that is made possible by all those who are like the lion who are not cowards, but stand for all righteousness and rebuke the wicked. As lions you know when you must become strong and stand for all that is righteous and when to be gentile to those who come for peace and want to hear the truth. The truth come from the word of God and God is the Truth.
James 1:15 and love attempts to prevent destruction.
1 Corinthians 13:6 Love does not delight in evil but, rejoices with the truth.
Beware of narratives that try and guide people through scriptures on-line or elsewhere by providing their own interpretations to what the gospels say. Don't always assume that what someone is saying is straight from the bible or from an apostle or even from Chirst Himself. Look it up, see what the actual scripture says and be led by the spirit of Truth. The Holy Spirit speaks to everyone's heart who wants to hear and seeks the truth.
In Revelation 21:8 it says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death". Did that sound weak, some say that fearful was translated in this part to mean Coward. I believe it goes hand and hand with the next word which was unbelieving. Most those who are atheist or claim to be atheist do so because they are fearful and unbelieving. We need to address that with them. For it is certain by the word of God, they shall be consumed by the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. Yes, they shall take part of the second death.
The Lesson here is, be courageous but kind. Strong but gentle and when you confront sin you do so in order than one may be saved of his sin if he hears and then believes. But do do nothing, don't just pass by or as some say SCROLL on by them not to say something, or create dialog. Perhaps, all someone needed is persuasion to get their mind thinking. The fear of them not coming to God is obtuse, because they are already not with God. They only way some are persuaded if someone shows they are concerned with their soul and the direction they are headed.
Thank you for reading my rant... upon being al Lion not a Coward.
