ONE BIG FAMILY
Throughout history there have been many men who desired to have dominion over the entire world. In the Bible a story was told about a man named Nimrod who wanted to control the world and even built the tower of Babel to show his power. In more recent history men like Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini and a host of others have fantasized over the prospect of controlling the world. While these men failed to conquer the world with military power, there are others today that are using a more subtle approach to do the same thing.
Over the past few days there has been much talk about the budget that President Obama has proposed. One of his senior economic staffers was quoted as saying that "we need a global minimum tax" so no one escapes paying "their fair share." Like many other true Americans I have about had a can full of this fair share nonsense that our current administration has been preaching to the American people. Our president likes to compare himself to President Abraham Lincoln. I happen to remember some of President Lincoln’s statements where he said that “you cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred” and “you cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich”. This whole idea of joining with other nations sounds a whole lot like a one world government.
While it is fine to trade with other nations, we do not need to be crawling in bed with them. The founders of this nation fought a war of independence with Great Britain so that we would be able to forge our own path. The great experiment in freedom resulted in our country becoming the most prosperous nation the world has ever seen. While our economy has suffered over the past few years, the economies in the European nations are in worse shape. I feel that our problems are a result of our government adopting some of the same socialist garbage that our European counterparts are so well known for.
I also have heard reports that our commander-in-chief wants to dismantle a huge amount of our nuclear weapons because he wants to have a nuclear free world. In my opinion dismantling any of our weapons would be a huge mistake. Anyone with an IQ over 40 knows that we live in a dangerous world and there are a host of people that would like to destroy us and our way of life. Maybe our president thinks that we can all join hands on some mountain top and sing of peace and harmony and we will all be one big family. I believe that if we are to survive as a nation we must get back to the values of our forefathers.
