JUDGED BY THEIR WORKS
I have noticed that humans will make all kinds of claims to influence other people’s opinions of them. Politicians are the worst; many of them will proclaim their religious faith while at the same time breaking the commandments they claim to be obeying. There is a word for this type of behavior, it is called hypocrisy. In my Bible, it is said that every man will be judged according to his works. The election results last Tuesday have renewed my hope that the American people are starting to wake up and stop the march to socialism started 6 years ago.
Even though I receive solicitations in the mail from AARP to join their organization, I don’t feel old yet; but I am old enough to have seen several presidential administrations and the current one, in my opinion, is the most corrupt of any of them. The election was a message from the American people that they want the deception and federal overreach of the current administration to stop. While the Republican Party was the beneficiary of wrath against the president and those that blindly followed him, they need to also take a hard look at the results.
We freedom loving Americans are sick of the progressive liberal path that we have been forced to follow. The voters didn’t give the reigns of power to the Republicans just because they were Republicans; they were elected because they promoted the Conservative philosophy. The Republicans need to realize that the voters will not be satisfied with a bunch of compromises. If the Republicans don’t hold true to the conservative message that they campaigned upon, the wrath that the liberals felt Tuesday night will be directed on them in two short years.
The American people are tired of being told one thing then something diametrically different happens. One prime example is Obamacare; we were promised that our health care premiums would go down, but for the majority of people paying their health care premiums the price has only gone up. Wasn’t it strange that the upcoming re-enrollment premiums were scheduled to be unveiled after the election? It was also strange that hardly any Democrat candidate campaigned on the “great” success of Obamacare. Thankfully the American people saw through the smoke and mirrors; last Tuesday we judged them on their works. What we witnessed was the system of checks and balances that our founders gave us.
The Republicans have a huge responsibility but we citizens also have a huge responsibility. We citizens must do a better job of keeping up with government and hold our elected officials accountable. We citizens also need to live by the conservative philosophy; the belief in a limited government and self-reliance is the core of that belief. The mess our government has gotten into will not be repaired overnight and it will require all of us to repair it. Yes, we need to judge our elected officials, but we must be willing to apply those same principles to ourselves as well.
