TALKING TO A SNAKE
I have found that on some occasions trying to convince someone of something is just a waste of breath. You would have about as much success talking to a rattlesnake and trying to convince him not to bite you. You might make the best argument in the world but you will probably still get bit if you get too close. The snake really can’t help it, he is a snake and that is what snakes do. Over the past few days some of our elected leaders have been doing a lot of talking; in my opinion they might as well be talking to one of our slithering friends.
A recent quote by Hillary Clinton showed an insight to the liberal mentality. She said we Americans need to give respect to our enemies and to sit down with them and have a conversation and try to understand their grievance with us. I am getting tired of our elected leaders apologizing to some tinhorn dictator because they think that the United States is a terrible and evil place. Just a couple of days ago the actions of Senator Dianne Feinstein went to the absurd. She released a report on alleged torture by the CIA in the aftermath of the 911 attacks. She and some of her colleagues condemned the CIA for their attempts to gather information after the terrorist attacks. The practice of water boarding was condemned and the statement was made that the CIA didn’t receive any usable information after using it. From what I have read the charge that no usable information is totally false, a wealth of information was collected from several terrorists using this technique. I also may note that the terrorists had no permanent disabilities because of the water boarding; it is a far cry from the actions of the Islamic terrorists beheading our citizens in Syria and Iraq.
When we have American lives at stake water boarding is a small price for a terrorist (who probably needed a bath anyway) to pay to insure their safety. I am not ready to sacrifice any of my family or friends because of some self-righteous politician on Capitol Hill. I wonder if the likes of Hillary and Diane would be willing to sacrifice their family members to a bunch of murderous thugs instead of using strong interrogation methods? It is very easy to set back in a nice office where they have around the clock security and critize the people and solders on the front lines whose life is in immediate danger. The timing of the release of the report also serves as a distraction from the issue of the president’s illegal action on illegal immigration.
Over the years I have noticed that the current administration kisses the backside of our enemies while trying to rule the citizens of this nation with an iron fist. Just like talking to a rattlesnake, a terrorist does not listen to reason and he cannot help it he cannot change his ways simply because he is a terrorist; and no amount of talking will change that.
