PEDDLING FICTION
I have always believed that it is important to stay involved in political affairs, whether we want to admit it or not what happens in our nation’s capital does affect all of us. I watched our president give his final State of the Union speech a few nights ago, while he liked to blow his trumpet on all of his great accomplishments I have noticed that there are many facts that the American people are never made aware off.
During his speech he made the comment,“Anyone claiming that America’s economy is in decline is peddling fiction.” That statement does sound impressive but we need to take a look at the real facts and figures about the condition of our nation. He made the statement that during his tenure he created 14 million jobs. However I never heard him acknowledge the fact that during that same time frame the national debt increased over 8 trillion dollars. If you do the math, for every job created it cost $600,000 in government debt for every one of them.
Our nation’s acknowledged debt is quickly approaching 19 trillion dollars. The Social Security trust fund is quickly running out of money. The Census Bureau’s data shows that the earnings for middle class Americans are stagnating. The Federal Reserve, who has been declaring war on savers in this nation because of their manipulating of the currency, has net capital of less than 1% of total assets. To give some perspective on the condition of the Federal Reserve, if you put your savings in some local bank with the assurance you could get your money anytime you needed it then you made the discovery that your bank only has 1% of your money available in the event you want to make a withdrawal.
While the administration likes to claim that the unemployment rate is low, they do not tell about the people that have given up and dropped out of the labor force. The labor participation rate has not been this low since during the Jimmy Carter presidency. USDA figures show that the number of food stamp recipients is near an all-time high and at the same time the number of homeless children in America is at a record high. Over the centuries people understood that if you wanted to do well, you had to produce more than you consumed. Today we have a class of worthless politicians who promote a society where it is now easier to consume than produce.
In essence our president accused everyone who doesn’t share his view as just making things up. Fortunately there are many people in this nation who are beginning to see the whole picture instead of the bits and pieces that the political class and the main stream media like to put out. If there is any peddling going on it is our president and his administration. They may be on a bicycle peddling to beat the band, but they forgot to hook up the drive chain.
