SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP

I have found it amazing how certain groups will go to any lengths to hold on to their power and position. This year’s politics in the Republican presidential race has definitely proven that statement. I just got through listening to the hatchet job that former presidential candidate Mitt Romney did on Donald Trump. While Trump is far from perfect, neither are any of the other candidates. In my opinion, if Mitt Romney had cut into President Obama during the last election half as hard as he did Trump maybe we Americans wouldn’t have had to endure the Socialism our president has forced upon us. Romney reminds me of a guy that likes to beat up on his wife or children in his home; at home he is really a tough guy, but when he gets out in the real world he is not so tough.

Romney is a member of the establishment class of the Republican Party. Four years ago when he was running he was not by any means my first choice, but when he did become our nominee I sucked it up and supported him. I did the same thing during the previous race when John McCain was the nominee. In this year’s race I intend to support the Republican nominee whoever he is because all of them are far superior to Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Maybe Romney thinks he is doing the country a huge favor, but in reality he just PO’ed about half of the registered Republicans in this country.

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have become popular because they are considered outsiders. The establishment Republicans have made countless promises to rein in the rogue actions of our president; sadly, time after time they have caved in and gave him everything he wanted. While Romney made the charge that Trump doesn’t how to run the country, maybe he should take a good look at the establishment’s track record. I heard his whole speech and I am sure that even Satan himself would not have been run down to the extent of Trump. It might surprise some people to know that only four short years ago Romney was singing the praises of Trump and even touted the endorsement of Mr. Trump. It seems to me that he liked Trump just fine while he was giving him a campaign donation. If Romney thinks Trump is such a sorry individual today, surely he thought the same four years ago. I have the belief that if you take a donation from someone that that has lied and cheated to get the money and you know about it you are just as sorry and guilty as the person giving it to you.

I have heard all of the stuff about ganging up on Trump and denying him the nomination through a brokered convention or any other means. I have a little prophecy, you keep it up and the Republican Party will totally fracture. While I am disappointed with the actions of Mitt Romney, I feel that he would have been a far better president than Obama. In the race four years ago many Republicans stayed home and didn’t vote, how’s that working out for you?   One of my family members had the old saying, “SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP”.  We outsiders did suck it up for the establishment, now it is time for the establishment to do the same.
