THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

RADICAL TROUBLEMAKER

I can remember my grandfather telling me that he only argued over something when he was right. It is good that people can become passionate about a subject, but sometimes people forget that on any issue there are always two sides of the argument. Here in America the founders of this nation saw the need to ensure that everyone had the right to voice their opinion on any subject; the right of free speech is just as important as the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment. Our court system is a case in point. Whenever you go into court each side is given the opportunity to state their side of an argument; while there have been injustices in the past, justice and the right to debate is the goal whether you are the poorest or the richest of society. We have all seen the icon of the lady holding a set of balance scales while being blindfolded; while most of us understand the concept of justice, sadly some of the elitists in our country cannot understand the concepts because of inflated egos and pure arrogance.

Over the past seven years the radical environmentalists have had a friend in our current president Barrack Obama, he has promoted a policy of declaring all out war on fossil energy sources. He has used the EPA as his henchmen to shut down the coal industry; that action alone has the potential to make affordable energy a thing of the past in America. Our coal fired plants are far cleaner than they were just a few years ago; also our autos are far more efficient than they were a short time ago. To use the auto miles per gallon increases as an example, the government may require that a car get 25 miles per gallon. Physics might allow that goal to be obtained, but if the government mandated the same car get 50 miles per gallon the physics probably wouldn’t allow it. The administration is promoting other sources such as wind and solar, they may be a good dream but those technologies are not ready for prime time. To justify all of this intrusion into our daily lives they cite global warming or climate change. We need to remember that climate change is a theory and not based on rock solid facts, many scientists disagree with the whole idea of manmade climate change.

Recently Al Gore, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, and other East Coast State Attorneys General announced their plans to defend climate change progress made under President Obama and to push the next President for even more aggressive action by seeking to   criminally investigate energy companies for disputing the science behind global warming. Their statement made me wonder who died and made them dictators of this nation, their attitude reminds me of the actions of Nazi Germany. World history is full of oligarchy governments that basically told its citizens to shut up and don’t question us unless we give you permission.  Too many Americans listen to these self-serving egomaniacs while surrendering more and more of our freedoms. Often times anyone who dares to dispute their findings are labeled as some kind of radical troublemaker, but we need to remember that our nation was founded by radical troublemakers who had the courage to stand up.
