WHAT WAR
Whether we know it or not the people in this nation that believe in the founding principles are at war. I guess it is just part of the human condition to be rebellious of the teachings we received when we were children. Sometimes that rebellion can lead society on a path of enlightenment and truth, but it can lead us to destruction. If you take a good look at the founders of this nation they were rebels. Like all of the rest of us they were far from perfect, but they founded this nation on the Judeo Christian belief system. When you look at the history of the United States there is nothing in the history of mankind that can compare to the accomplishments our nation has achieved in our short history. Our nation is a very young nation when compared to other countries across the globe. Many nation’s history covers thousands of years instead of a couple of hundred like ours.
We Americans have been successful above all nations, but one of the side effects of success is the dark emotion of arrogance. It was Abraham Lincoln that once said that the teachings in the classroom will be the policies in government when the next generation takes the reins of power. While it is an accepted belief that getting a degree in higher education will enable an individual to have a higher income and an easier life than their parents, we adults have been negligent in keeping tabs on what our young people are being taught.
I recently read an article where a Harvard Law Professor was giving his views on the social issues that are currently in the news. This Law Professor stated that Americans with a biblical worldview and others leaning toward the political Right have ended up on the wrong side of history, and should be dealt with similar to the way Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germans were treated after losing World War II. He then attempted to portray Christians and conservatives in his argument as standing in the same category as modern-day slave owners and racists during the Civil War of the 1860s, opponents of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, and even the German Fascists carrying out Hitler’s extermination of the Jewish People throughout Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. Correct me if I am wrong; it was the people who had Christian values that did away with slavery, embraced human rights and stated in our most sacred government document that all men are endowed by their creator with the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The Liberal Law Professor is preaching to our young people his doctrine that is totally opposite to what this country was founded upon; his attitude is simply ‘You lost, live with it’. This upcoming presidential election is one of the most important that we will see in our lifetime. The next president will more than likely appoint several replacements to the Supreme Court. Can you imagine a president appointing someone with this attitude to the Supreme Court? Liberals haven’t been bashful using the courts to reshape social policy when they couldn’t win at the polls. If we Americans don’t choose wisely we may just wind up losing a war we didn’t even know we were in.
