THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

DEATH OF LIBERTY

Like many Americans I was anxious to hear the outcome of the FBI report on the email scandal of Hillary Clinton. Nothing in the report surprised me; anyone who has kept up with the story already knew that she indeed had misused her position and showed no respect for the laws of our nation. The decision not to prosecute her was not a surprise to me either.

An even more serious problem is the way many Americans don’t know or could not even care less about the lies and deceit that the elite class gets away with in our once great nation. Too many Americans have accepted a two class system of justice. When our nation was founded, in many nations the penalty for murder was different if you killed a common person compared to if you killed a nobleman. The founders of this nation understood there is no justice without equality. I have been in the political world, and until a person steps into that world they haven’t a clue about the corruption and cronyism that is running rampant in our nation.

I have found that the government class is so concerned with maintaining the status quo they will do anything to preserve it. We Americans have been warned of this destruction of liberty, but the people that are trying to warn us are labeled as malcontents or conspiracy nuts; but when you look at history that has always been the case. It amazes me how some voters choose who to vote for. The candidates that have educated themselves on the issues seem to be on the losing end more often than not; the candidates that only speak in clichés and platitudes seem to be what the voters want. I do not know if the issues that our nation faces are above their heads or they simply don’t care. One thing that I do know, too many of our people are only concerned with programs that benefit them and they will support any charlatan that promises to give it to them for free.

At one time our nation was rich and powerful enough to absorb a bunch of corruption, but that day has passed. The liberal philosophy does not take into account the human trait of dishonesty. With every generation more and more people, instead of being self reliant, are content to buy into the idea of socialism. The loss of liberty is a constant force that must be reckoned with.

During Hillary Clinton’s campaign her main theme has been for the government to be expanded and pass out more taxpayer’s money. In my opinion that is why many American voters are content to cheer on someone with very questionable character in the race to the White House. Liberty is a very precious thing; there is a quote that is becoming a reality in our nation, “So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause.”
