THE CRUELEST JOKE OF ALL
Like many other Americans, over the last couple of days I have been listening to the story about Roseanne Barr and how the wrath of the liberals has come down upon her. In the past I have watched her show a couple of times, but my favorite comedian was the late Red Skelton. In my opinion if Roseanne was a supporter of Hillary Clinton, and if she had made some derogatory statement about Donald Trump or his family, she would have been a champion of the never Trump crowd. Throughout life we all have made comments that were inappropriate, but for the most part if it does not become a habit most people ignore it and go on. Over the past couple of years there has been a pile of inappropriate comments by many in the liberal crowd and we citizens have been expected to overlook what they said, but for poor Roseanne the same consideration doesn’t seem to apply.
The late night talk shows with their so-called comedian hosts have had a field day ridiculing President Trump and his family. One host even went so far to imply that President Trump had an incestuous affair with his daughter Ivanka. If the talk show comedians had been held to the same standard as Roseanne, they would have been cancelled and thrown out on the street. The derogatory comments did not end with just the president and his family; Sarah Huckabee Sanders is another example of a person who has come under attack. We need to remind ourselves of a couple of facts. The liberal news media and the late night comedians are making their attacks on prime time while they are on the clock. Whether you agree with, or don’t agree with, Roseanne’s attempt at making a joke, she at least was on her own time and not on the clock.
We live in a society where there are people sitting around in their underwear watching people and every comment they might make; face it, none of us are 100% grammatically correct all of the time. These underwear watchers remind me of the people who used to take vinyl LP’s and play them backwards and spend all day listening for dirty words. I have also noticed the trend in today’s society where it is perfectly acceptable to ridicule the Judao Christian foundations of this nation. Ever since former president Obama went on his apology tour and bowed to the Saudi King it is taboo to say anything against the Muslim religion or its followers.
The cruelest joke of all is the selective outrage that the liberal left engages in every day.
