TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCES
I can remember a passage out of the Bible where it talks about words being as sharp as a two edged sword. Too many of our elected officials and the so-called elite of this nation fail to understand that concept. We all need to be careful in the language we use, whether it is in jest or actual anger there are people in our society that are quick to act violently and are just waiting for an excuse to do so. Over the past several months the anger has been building up and I, along with many others, are concerned that sooner or later it will explode like a pressure cooker. Even Senator Rand Paul and Congressman Steve Scalise, who were victims of violent attacks, are voicing their concerns.
In the state of Vermont a Republican state house candidate was sent a chilling threat, she was threatened with rape and eventually murder by an individual from the radical left. This sicko claims to be at war with conservative republicans and our Constitution. During the Kavnaugh hearings several senators were threatened with violence if they voted to confirm him. What can we expect from the radical left when they have developed an attitude where they do not value human life; the practice of unrestricted abortion has tainted their concept of life. When anyone gets to the point where they think it is ok to scrape the uterus and harvest infants’ body parts for a profit, other human life is not valued either. Speaking of body parts, I also read about the militant group Antifa. These militants placed severed pigs heads and placards protesting the elections at polling places and campaign offices in and around Austin, TX. Their justification was that Senator Ted Cruz is an imperialist pig and they want to disrupt the election process and promote open revolution.
It is strange to me that the left in this country cannot criticize conservatives enough, but they are next to silent about rebuking a clearly anarchistic organization. In this case the lack of words has consequences. The whole idea of placing severed pig heads at polling places is more like what goes on third world countries such as Afghanistan instead of a so-called civilized country like the United States. Whenever we hear people like Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton condone violence as a means to achieve their goals it promotes this kind of insanity. It was Adolph Hitler who made the point that if you tell a lie long enough, people will accept it as the truth. Sadly in our country telling half truths and outright lies is a common way to further one’s political career, but at what cost? I recently read a quote by George Orwell where he said, “The further a society drifts from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it.” We need to remember words do have consequences and they do have the ability to incite violence.
