THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

GOVERNMENT FOR DUMMIES

As I watched the results of the elections Tuesday night, I came to the conclusion that a huge percentage of our nation does not have the same values that our fathers and grandfathers had when I was growing up. I have often said that we Americans are no longer a nation with shared values. Many things are causing this change of attitude; some of it may be due to the so-called entertainment we watch every day, or just a devolving of our moral fiber. This column I write is a column of my opinions; some may not agree with them, but I feel that if we don’t start facing the reasons for our decline we will continue on a downward spiral.

I have no doubt that the founders of our nation were divinely inspired. In many book stores I have seen books on the operation of computers; one in particular was called computers for dummies. The founders of this nation in their wisdom created a system of government for dummies. Our Constitution has prevented us from destroying our nation; our ancestors understood that idea, but we seem to be losing that knowledge at an alarming rate. When we go into a graveyard the problem becomes apparent. The Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomers are being replaced by victims of the public schools who have no clue of Biblical morals and their God-given rights. Our government is designed to protect the God-given rights that all humans have, it was never intended to be an instrument for an elite class to socially engineer the population. We are losing the knowledge of America’s true heritage.

We are supposed to be a nation of laws not feelings. It is fine to have the feelings of compassion and empathy, but I have found that without logic and law it can lead to heartbreak. One example could be a person falling head over heels in love with a bad person. Too many people find themselves in an abusive relationship when they fail to use logic in picking a mate. Every day we see news reports about the illegal migrant caravan marching towards our southern border. The news media manipulates the feelings of the citizens of this nation with endless bad luck stories, but these stories are devoid of logic. Our current law is designed to have an orderly process of admitting people into our country. When our laws are ignored and we let a group invade our country because we feel sorry for them we no longer have a country.

Many of the values I grew up learning came from my grandfathers and my parents; over the years we have allowed our replacement citizens to be educated by liberal-minded professors in our schools of higher learning. In the case of my grandparents they are all gone now; their tombstones only tell how long they were on the earth. They have been replaced by people that do not understand the values I listed above. Fortunately there are some true conservatives still around, but the reality is we are an aging group. As time goes by it will become increasingly harder to maintain a constitutional republic and elect true conservatives for government service.  If we don’t find a way to pass on those values in a short period of time we, too, will be replaced by people who do not share our beliefs and the heritage of our nation. It is a sad prospect to think that America, in spite of all of the blood, sweat and tears, will only be a footnote in history. Losing our national heritage is an evil that we cannot accept.  There is a quote by Albert Einstein, “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.”
