BROKEN WINDOWS
Now that it is summer time everyone knows the importance of having good windows in your home. The electric costs seems to be rising every year, and it is common knowledge to make sure that the windows are closed all the way and any broken windows are repaired. Throughout the year there are countless commercials on the television from companies wanting to sell you windows to upgrade your house and make it more efficient. Any logical person can understand that paying for better windows may cost a little in the short term, but in the long term the cost to heat and cool your house will be reduced. To solve any problem there is always a certain amount of pain that we must endure; whether it be financial or blood, sweat, or tears we must have the ability to see the long term impact. We have a host of liberal elected officials who clammer about the NEW GREEN DEAL and having all kinds of restrictions placed upon the American taxpayer to be more efficient with energy and to use less of it, but they cannot understand the parallels of leaky windows and the flood of illegals coming across our southern border.
I am sure that the liberals would never accept a bunch of broken windows in their house because it would not be comfortable and it would drive up their utility bill, but they are oblivious to the cost to the American taxpayer associated with the illegal invasion. Any logical person understands that something has to be done, at least our president is doing something to slow down the flow of illegals into this country. Every time our president makes a suggestion he comes under attack from the left and their minions in the main stream media, his proposal to impose tariffs on Mexican is no exception. The Mexicans could and should be doing a better job of solving the problem. The nation of Mexico has some very strict laws when it comes to individuals illegally entering their country, but they seem to be selectively enforced; if an American crossed into Mexico illegally they would find themselves setting in a Mexican prison waiting for their loved ones to raise enough money to buy their freedom. On the other hand they are aiding and abetting people who are intent upon storming the southern border of the United States and violating our laws.
In our country if a person aids and abets a known criminal, they themselves can be charged with a crime; if there was no penalty our country would be full of people protecting known criminals as long as the criminals would share part of their ill-gotten booty with them. Every time the subject of tariffs is brought up in the news, the media will show pictures of crates of avocados and cry about the possible increase of the cost of guacamole. The number of migrants apprehended at America’s southern border skyrocketed last month to levels not seen in over a decade with U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting nearly 133,000 arrests in May. The number surpassed 144,000 when counting migrants deemed inadmissible – more than a 30 percent increase from the prior month and double the influx recorded at the beginning of the year.
It is time that we Americans need to get as serious about the illegal immigration problem as we do about replacing defective windows. I can guarantee you when the Mexican government has to start eating all of their excess avocados they will be ready to get serious about the problem. In the short term if we have to pay a little more for a serving of guacamole it will be a small price to pay.
